WiZ Introduces New Matter Lights for Desk and Garden

The company WiZ belongs, just like Philips Hue, to the Signify group and was probably not necessarily known to Apple Home users until a while ago. However, with the release of the Matter update for existing lamps and luminaires, that has changed. Now the manufacturer has released new lamps that can also be used in Apple Home via Matter.

Since then, we have also been very happy to rely on WiZ products and have already been able to give you some insights in our past review. The selection at WiZ is already huge. Now the company is following up with an interesting Matter-over-WiFi desk lamp and outdoor strip.

New is the WiZ desk lamp Portrait. Connected via USB-C, the light (19.5 × 18.5 × 38 cm) offers you a ring light at the top and a main light at the bottom of the light head with 600 lumens @4000K warm and cool white, which you can tilt and direct to your liking. When you need targeted lighting from below, the main light directs the focus to your work area.

But if you have an important video call scheduled later in the day, the ring light above is perfect for illuminating your face to its fullest. The ring light also features a deactivatable brightness sensor that automatically adjusts light intensity to ambient brightness, promising continuous optimization of face illumination, according to WiZ.

The new WiZ Outdoor LED Strip is made of silicone and is both weatherproof and waterproof for you according to protection class IP65. You can customize it to your liking with warm to cool white tones, 630 lumens, over 16 million colors and dynamic light modes via the WiZ app. The light strip extends over a total of five meters and is neither extendable nor shortenable.

WiZ offers a wide range of lamps and luminaires that can now also be easily integrated into Apple Home thanks to Matter. It’s worth browsing the Glaxus Store or Amazon to get a first impression of the product variety at WiZ.

The new WiZ desk lamp Portrait is currently available at a price of around 100,- EUR. The WiZ Outdoor Lightstrip is announced for October and then available for 159.99 EUR.
