After reporting on the new Eve Flare ball light earlier today, another device from Eve Systems is now available, the HomeKit shutter control Eve Shutter Switch.

Measuring 4.1 x 9 x 9 cm, the new Eve Shutter Switch is designed to easily replace existing in-wall shutter switches for controlling motorized shutters or blinds. The device can then be integrated into Apple Home via Bluetooth or Thread. As a full Thread device, it can forward data packets from other Thread devices, which can improve the stability and reach of the Thread network.

Control based on location and position of the sun

Particularly exciting is the consideration of the location, date and orientation of the window for optimal control of the shutters based on the position of the sun. Alternatively, the shutters can be controlled automatically or manually via HomeKit or the physical double switch.

Eve Systems originally unveiled the Eve Shutter Switch at the International Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA) in Berlin, and it was supposed to be available in December 2022. Half a year later, the device is now available. By the way, all current Thread from Eve Systems are to support the new Matter smarthome standard in the future.
