Eufy adds reference to cloud storage
Last week, Eufy was criticized. A security researcher had uncovered that recordings end up unencrypted in the cloud even when stored locally.
Eufy denied the accusations and noted that only preview images for notifications are stored on the servers for a short time. To make this clear to the user, the manufacturer has added corresponding notes in the app.

Bosch announces new bridge
Bosch announced this week a new bridge for its own smarthome system. The Bosch Smart Home Controller II is designed to support Matter.
However, this will be added via a firmware update, just like the HomeKit integration. In addition, not all devices are supported at the beginning. You can find all the information in this post.
Numerous news around Philips Hue
There were several news at Philips Hue this week. In the meantime, the Philips Hue Lightguide Ellipse is available again, after the original sales launch had to be stopped at the end of August due to condensation in the glass body.
In addition, Signify has announced that the chain of lights launched in the recent past will not be available again until the end of 2023. As if that weren’t enough, there are to be price increases on major products starting February 1, 2023.
New floor lamp with speaker from IKEA and Sonos
The cooperation between IKEA and Sonos is bearing further fruit. From January 2023, there should be a new SYMFONISK floor lamp with Wi-Fi Speaker.

Smart secured: Yale HomeKit Safe
In addition to the recently introduced furniture lock, the Yale Smart Cabinet Lock with Apple HomeKit integration, the Yale Smart Safe is now launching, as promised by the manufacturer at IFA in September 2022. Of course, this can also be integrated into the Apple ecosystem.
However, the Yale app in conjunction with the safe probably offers the greatest added value. In HomeKit, the safe is available as a lock, identical to that of a front door. This brings advantages but also disadvantages. Our full review of the new Yale Smart Safe can be found here.
Plejd Gateway receives HomeKit update
Swedish company Plejd has released a HomeKit update for its own smarthome gateway GWY-01.
The supplier mainly offers devices for the automation of lighting, including flush-mounted switches, pushbuttons, LED drivers and more.
New devices from TP-Link launch in the US
Several new devices from TP-Link have been launched in the US. Among other things, the TP-Link Kasa Smart EP40A Outdoor Smart Plug, a new adapter plug with two separately controllable Plugfor outdoor use, has been launched there.
There is also a light switch, the Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch KS200, and a dimmer switch, the Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer Switch KS220. All three devices can be integrated into HomeKit.
