Flush-mounted modules are now available from a number of manufacturers, including Bosch, Eltako, Fibaro, Zemismart and even Aqara. However, with the now released Dual Relay Module T2, Aqara wants to offer much more.

In addition to switching lights on and off, the relay can also be used to control roller shutter drives, garage doors and even heaters and boilers.

The included instructions are not particularly detailed. However, some schematics for different use cases are shown on the website.

Versatile Operating Modes for Diverse Applications

The Aqara app provides various operating modes for configuration, including a wet contact and a dry contact. The dry contact can be used in versatile ways, either as a simple on/off switch or as a pulse with an adjustable duration ranging from 300 to 2,000 milliseconds. Power consumption monitoring is available for the wet contact. Additionally, you have the option to configure the connected switches as rocker switches or button switches.

Furthermore, there’s the option to decouple the switches from the consumers, preventing them from directly controlling the devices when pressed. You can also configure it so that only one switch can be active at a time, which is especially relevant for controlling roller shutter motors.

It supports up to two consumers and switches with alternating voltage from 100 to 250V (Max. 10A / 2,500W) or direct current with 24 to 30V (Max. 10A) or 30 to 60V (Max. 1A).

Supports Matter & Apple Home

The Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 is connected via Zigbee 3.0 to an Aqara hub. If the hub supports Matter, the relay can also be accessible via Matter. Otherwise, the device can be directly integrated into Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, or Google Home.

In Apple Home, two switches become available, which can be integrated into automations and scenes. You can view the available functions in the HomeDevices app.

Numerous Possibilities with a Large Form Factor

The Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 is remarkably versatile but keep in mind its dimensions: 45.5 x 48 x 24mm. If you plan to install it in an in-wall box, it should be adequately deep. However, a mounting bracket for DIN rails is included in the package, allowing you to install the device directly in the electrical panel if that’s an option for you.

Given enough space, the Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 offers a multitude of options thanks to its numerous configuration settings. Aqara has gone above and beyond with this in-wall module, distinguishing itself from the competition.

The Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 is now available on Amazon for 34,99€. For starters, you can save with code RELAYT2EU in Europe and USCARELAY in the US and Canada.
