As we do every Sunday, we look back at the events of the past week. Netatmo has released a HomeKit door lock, while LIFX is planning an outdoor Matter light strip. The EZVIZ E6 Smart Security Camera with Apple HomeKit Secure Video was unveiled at IFA and the tedee Go Smart Lock gets a major update. In addition, new lamps from Nanoleaf are available.

Netatmo Releases HomeKit Door Lock

After nearly four years of waiting, Netatmo has finally released its HomeKit-enabled smart door lock. Instead of relying on an Internet connection, the lock relies solely on Bluetooth and NFC keys. It can be connected to the Internet and controlled remotely via Apple Home.

The Netatmo Smart Door Lock is available at Tink and the manufacturer’s official online store for €379.99.

LIFX Plans to Introduce a Matter Light Strip

LIFX has had the new LIFX Neon Outdoor certified by the CSA as an outdoor neon light strip that will accordingly support the Matter standard.

EZVIZ E6: Smart Security Camera with Apple HomeKit Secure Video

At IFA 2023, EZVIZ unveiled the E6 Smart Security Camera, which supports Apple HomeKit Secure Video. With a variety of features, including 360-degree panning and AI detection, it offers a surprisingly wide range of functions.

It connects via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, stores recordings, in addition to iCloud, on a MicroSD card if desired, and is compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa. Available in Germany for around 130 EUR, the EZVIZ E6 offers outstanding quality and security.

tedee Go Smart Lock Receives Update Due to Key Breakage Risk

The tedee Go Smart Lock could reportedly break off keys in individual cases because too much pressure was applied when retracting the door latch. The manufacturer has confirmed this problem and released a firmware update that optimizes the engine control.

This reduces the pressure on the keys when turning. Users of the tedee Go should install the update to prevent a possible key break.
