We have already reported about the SwitchBot Lock, which surprised us positively. Connected to the SwitchBot Hub 2, the intelligent door lock now supports the new smarthome standard Matter and can also be integrated into HomeKit.
Like the Nuki or the new Tedee Go, the SwitchBot Lock is simply mounted over an inserted key and can then open or lock the door.
SwitchBot has just released new firmware updates for both the Hub 2 and the Lock. If the Hub 2 is updated to version 1.0-0.8, the door lock to version 6.5 and the iOS app to version 7.3, the door lock can also be used in Apple Home via Matter.
Premium keypad
The manufacturer offers a premium keypad as an option for the SwitchBot Lock. This can unlock the door via a code, via NFC or a fingerprint. However, Home Key is not supported.
A so-called SOS fingerprint can also be stored. If this is used to unlock, an emergency notification is sent.
The SwitchBot Hub 2 is currently on sale on Amazon. There you will also find the SwitchBot Lock and the keypad. Our community discount code “30SMARTAPFEL” is valid on Amazon as well as in the manufacturer’s online store.
