We had already reported that Sonos wants to release new speakers with the Era 300 and Era 100 that are supposed to “reset the bar”. In the meantime, new information and first pictures have surfaced.
Sonos Era 300
At $450, the new Sonos Era 300 is said to fall between the Sonos One and Sonos Five. Although the speaker is geared toward spatial audio, it’s unlikely that Apple Music’s tens of thousands of Dolby Atmos songs will be supported to begin with. Confirmed are WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, AirPlay 2, built-in microphones, auto EQ and a USB-C input.
Sonos Era 100
The Sonos One could be replaced by the Sonos Era 100 in the future. This should cost around $250 and also have Bluetooth and a USB-C input, which means that turntables can be connected directly. The Era 100 is also supposed to support Wi-Fi 6 and AirPlay 2.
According to The Verge, the new speakers will be available in white and black at the end of March.
