We have already reported that Eve Systems will introduce an AirPlay 2 adapter. At IFA, the time had come and the Munich-based company officially presented the device to make existing systems and speakers available via AirPlay 2.

If you want to use an existing amplifier, powered speakers, or soundbar via AirPlay 2, you can upgrade that functionality with the new Eve Play Audio Adapter.

Equipped with coaxial-digital, optical-digital and RCA-analog outputs, a wide variety of speakers can be connected. Any latencies that may occur in a multi-room setup can be adjusted either automatically or manually.

Integration into the home network is either hard-wired via Ethernet or wireless via 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi. For the audio experts among you: The digital-to-analog converter used is the Texas Instruments Audio DAC (PCM5122A) with a signal-to-noise ratio of 112 dB.

Eve Play is scheduled to be available from November 14 for €149.95.
