The Smartmi website announced a new smart pedestal fan back in January. Now the manufacturer’s first HomeKit fan is available for purchase, suitable for the warm days ahead. We have it in use and are happy to report back to you.

The Smartmi Air Circulator Fan (325 mm × 340 mm × 990 mm, 3.8 kg, power cord 1.45 m) focuses on a few special features. The fan head not only moves vertically, but also automatically horizontally, providing all-round air circulation. Or as Smartmi calls it, an: “AI-based dynamic breeze”. The assembly of the individual parts is easily done in a few minutes.

Likewise, the Wi-Fi with its integrated 5200 mAh battery enables wireless operation for up to 24 hours. Even at the maximum level, the operating time is still two hours.

The magnetic charging pad makes it convenient to recharge the fan. An LED display is integrated in the aluminum stand, which shows the wind speed and the operating mode. The LED at the bottom of the fan provides a status on the battery charge. Green 21% – 100%, orange 11% – 20%, flashing orange 0% – 10%. Unfortunately, there is no charging status display in the Smartmi Link app or in HomeKit.

Using the Smartmi Link app is great for upcoming over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates, or to change the fan’s operating mode. Here you can choose between direct wind, natural wind and an automatic temperature mode. However, the room temperature detected by the temperature sensor is not currently displayed in the Smartmi app, or in HomeKit.

Once you have added the Smartmi Air Circulator Fan by scanning the QR code of the Home App, the basic functions are available. Thus, the fan can be switched on and off, the rotation speed can be set, and the child lock and thus the lock of the physical buttons on the device can be activated.

In addition to control via the Smartmi app, or HomeKit, Google and Alexa integration is also available. Should it ever be necessary, operation is also possible directly on the device, or with the included 2.4 GHz remote control.

Just in time for the upcoming summer, you can get the new Smartmi HomeKit Air Circulator Fan with swift and free delivery at a price of 174.95 EUR at TechPunt. The summer can come. ☀️
