Introducing the Tapo P100M, another smart plug that supports the new Matter over WiFi smart home standard, allowing it to be integrated into Apple Home as well.

Unsurprisingly, it’s smart plugs that manufacturers are currently flooding the market with, all equipped with Matter support. After Eve Systems, Meross, EcoFlow, Onvis, Neo and other manufacturers, a model from Tapo is now available.

Although the manufacturer itself describes the Tapo P100M with a compact design, it is one of the larger Matter plugs on the market, measuring 72 x 51 mm. As usual, Tapo’s model can be controlled both intelligently and via a physical switch directly on the plug.

Additional Features, but Without Power Consumption Measurement

In addition to Matter integration, which enables the plug to be fully utilized within HomeKit, schedules can be set, and an “Auto-Off” feature, where the connected device automatically turns off after a customizable duration, can be configured. Furthermore, an Away Mode allows random control.

Tapo, however, does not have a consumption measurement, as known from Eve Systems, Meross, EcoFlow or Neo.

With a recommended retail price of €15.90, the plug is in the lower price range and is available in the manufacturer’s own online store as well as on Amazon for one euro less. At IFA, Hama will introduce a Matter Plug with an MSRP of €14.99.
