IKEA unveiled a revised version of its SYMFONISK remote control earlier this year. The remote control is used to control Sonos speakers and is now available in the second generation. New additions are two integrated shortcut buttons that can not only be configured via the official IKEA Home smart app, but also used via Apple HomeKit.

In addition to the shortcut buttons, the remote has a play/pause button, volume rocker, and forward/back buttons. The remote is powered by two AAA batteries, which should last for about two years with regular use. A DIRIGERA hub or TRÅDFRI hub is also required for installation. The remote control is supplied with a wall bracket to which it adheres magnetically. It can control individual Sonos speakers or a group of speakers.

You can see how the remote control is displayed in HomeKit after setup in our device overview or in HomeDevices. The new SYMFONISK remote control can be ordered from IKEA’s online store and is available in the store stores.
