We look back at the quietest week so far this year, right in the middle of the summer lull. Nevertheless, there were some news in the Matter and HomeKit world.
Neo Matter Plug: New Plug with consumption measurement launched
With the Neo Matter Plug, LED-Trading offers an affordable Plug that supports the new smarthome standard Matter and integrates seamlessly with Apple HomeKit. The Wi-Fi enabled Plug can switch loads up to 3,680W and enables measurement of power consumption.
Alongside other Matter Plugs such as the Eve Energy and the Meross Plug Mini, the Neo Matter Plug positions itself in the lower price segment. Currently, it can be purchased for 17.99€ thanks to our community discount code “SMARTAPFEL-10LED”.
Philips Hue Plans Return of Festavia Light Chain
Released just last November and quickly out of stock, the Philips Hue Festavia light chain could soon be back on the market in a new generation. An FCC filing hints at the upcoming release and reveals clues about three different lengths.
Although official confirmation from Philips or Signify is still pending, it can be assumed that the Festavia light chain will be available in time for this year’s holiday season.
Leviton equips four devices with Matter
Leviton has given four of its Decora Smart WiFi 2nd Generation smarthome devices a Matter update. The updated devices include the D215S Smart Switch, D26HD Smart Dimmer, D215P Smart Plug and D23LP Mini Plug-in Dimmer, all for the U.S. market.
Even before the update, the devices natively supported Apple HomeKit. After the Matter update, however, these must be integrated into HomeKit again.
