After we could already report about an IR remote control with Matter today, Midea has another treat. The company has announced a dishwasher that will support the new Smarthome standard.
Midea has already introduced an air conditioner as well as an air purifier with Matter. Now the company is following suit and presenting a dishwasher that can also be integrated into numerous smarthome systems via Matter.
Midea already has some smart dishwashers in its range. Among other things, various parameters can be set via the MSmartHome app, including the temperature and the degree of drying.
“At Midea we are focused on creating surprisingly-friendly smart products that are not just smart for the sake of being smart but offer real benefits. Allowing users to seamlessly operate their Midea smart home appliances in tandem with other third parties through the Matter standard is at the heart of that,” said Patrick Serrato, Head of IoT at Midea America Corp. and Alliance Board Member, “We started out last year with one of the first Matter certified air conditioners, followed that up by presenting one of the first Matter connected fan purifiers earlier this year, and now we are demonstrating the first Matter connected dishwasher. We are committed to Matter and we will continue until all our product categories are Matter certified.”
Press Release
It is not yet known exactly which functions will be available via Matter and whether and how household appliances will be able to be integrated into Apple Home. As far as we know, Matter is supposed to support home appliances in one of the next versions. The next major update is expected in the fall.
