Update from July 13, 2023 at 9:14 a.m.: It is now clear that the switch is not currently displayed in HomeKit. While this can be connected directly to lamps and also used via the TRÅDFRI or DIRIGERA Hub in the IKEA Home smart app, the device is not available in HomeKit.

Original post on July 12, 2023 at 8:48 a.m.: IKEA is adding a new wireless dimmer to its lineup of smart-home hardware. IKEA RODRET controls up to ten lights simultaneously and can also be connected to IKEA’s gateway.

The new IKEA RODRET can both switch on and off lights and dim them. In addition, the device can be connected to the IKEA DIRIGERA or IKEA TRÅDFRI gateway. Whether the switch will then also appear in HomeKit, we cannot say at this time.

The dimmer switch is powered by a AAA battery and is said to have a range of up to ten meters. An integrated magnet allows easy mounting to the included wall mount and other metal surfaces.

IKEA RODRET is available now in most home furnishing stores and in the online store for 5,99€.
